The Street Medicine Program engages with unsheltered individuals who may be hesitant to pursue traditional medical care in an effory to prevent adverse health outcomes and ultimately improve overall health and well-being.  Te team includes medical residents, attending physicians and others, and rounds on foot twice monthly at downtown Lancastetr locations where potential patients minght gather.

 

Dr. Nissley is a native of Lancaster. He is a graduate of Eastern University, the Penn State College of Medicine, and the Penn Medicine Lancaster General Hospital Family Medicine Residency Program. He loves family medicine because of how it is oriented toward helping patients achieve overall health. Dr. Nissley's medical interests include HIV care, addiction, and improving health care access for the uninsured and underinsured. Since completion of residency he has worked as core faculty at the Penn Medicine Lancaster General where he enjoys teaching and learning alongside the ever talented and inspiring residents. His clinical duties include outpatient family medicine and oversight of the family medicine inpatient service. Since 2023, he has served as medical director of the Lancaster General Street Medicine practice, taking clinical care to shelters, soup kitchens, parks and community centers across Lancaster County. When not working, he enjoys spending time with his wife and children, watching baseball, gardening, and exploring Lancaster’s restaurants.
