Lancaster Symphony....its mission and vision for the future

Guy McIntosh is a professional musician, arts advocate, and marketing specilist with a track record for leading arts and education-focused organizations to successfully build audiences, increase revenue and expand their community impact. On July 1, 2020 Guy was named Executive Director of the Lancaster Symphony Orchestra.

Guy works closely with LSO musicians, staff and board of directors to fulfill the Symphony's goals of artistic excellence, community engagement, and educational outreach. Originally a member of Lancaster Symphony's trumpet section, Guy uses his experience as a professional musician to be a proponent of making classical music accessible for all and to redefine what a professional symphony orchestra should mean to its community.

Before becoming the LSA's Executive Director, Guy was an independent consultant specializing in marketing and strategic planning for small to midsize non-profit performing arts organizations. He also helped to co-found the artistic managing firm K & M Artists and has worked as an orchestral contractor, hiring hundreds of professional musicians for musical performances across the Baltimore/Washington DC region.

Guy holds a Bachelor of Music Performance from the Royal Academy of Music in London. As a musician, he has performed with the London Sinfonietta, Baltimore Symphony, Lancaster Symphony, Reading Symphony, Kennett Symphony, York Symphony, Maryland Lyric Opera, Washington Opera Society, Mid-Atlantic Symphony, Williamsburg Symphony, and countless other performing arts organizations.

As President and CEO of a destination management organization, his team is focused on promoting building and growing the $3B local tourism economy acorss Lancaster County, PA -- one of the most unique destinations to visit in the United States. Prior to assuming his current position, he served as the Chief Marketing Officer for the Valley Forge Tourism and Convention Board for six years.
